Hello all, today we’re going to talk about what I would do if I had a MAJOR budget. And I mean MILLIONS of dollars.

5 things I would without a doubt change if I had a bigger budget would be costumes, actors, directors, the setting, and technology.

First let’s start with actors. If I was given the chance I would higher professional actors who have more experience and better work ethic. Hiring people with experience would make the quality of our film 10 times better AND add more emotion to the film, in turn allowing us to connect with the audience deeper. I honestly believe professional actors would’ve saved us a bunch of time since we’d have to direct them less and have wayyy less retakes. We had about 4 retakes of the scene that requires Jasmine to walk outside because she seemed so tense and unnatural, being able to fix this simple problem would’ve saved us 25 minutes which when filming is a lot of time.

Secondly, lets speak about the setting and costumes. Having a team to work on costuming and cosmetics would allows us to portray our characters with more depth, increasing the quality of our film. Costumes really say a lot about a character and while I wholeheartedly believe ours represented our characters well there is always room for improvement. Now let’s talk about the setting. With a larger budget we’d be able to have an actual set made just for the movie with specific details and props. The setting/location can say a lot about a character especially when it’s a bedroom (like jasmines) which is supposed to be dedicated to one person solely.

Lastly, lets talk about directors and technology. Having better technology and actual directors would enhance our film in different ways. Professional directors have a knack for seeing things in a movie most others can’t, especially since they have experience in films of different genres. Additionally, with better equipment we could’ve completed the project in less time. There were plenty of times where our camera lost focus and we had to refilm shots that would’ve been perfect.
