Welcome back guys!
Today we're going to talk about the final day of editing, where we pulled everything together and wrapped up post-production. One of the biggest tasks was color grading—making sure the lighting and tones were consistent throughout the film to maintain a cohesive look. I also added the audio, which I’ll go into more detail about in the next blog post.
In the end, we had to make a tough decision and ended up scrapping the twist I had originally pitched. While the concept was solid, the shots didn’t quite align during editing, so we relied on our backup footage instead. As a result, the final cut turned out shorter than expected. Since we weren’t entirely sure how much time we had to work with, we kept everything as tight as possible.
That said, today’s editing session wasn’t too challenging since I had already completed most of the work earlier. We added transitions—mainly fade-to-black at the beginning and end. Overall, I felt more confident this time around because the clips flowed better and felt more cohesive. Our main focus was keeping the pacing just right rather than unnecessarily stretching things out.
