NYLESSSS and editing

 Hello fellow bloggers!!! Today we’re going to discuss my films editing style, software, and editor. In our group our main editor is Nyles considering he works in editing outside of school. 

  

In our film there aren’t many special effects, most of our editing is effects such as stabilization and color correction to make the audience perceive the movie as higher quality. One of the biggest challenges when editing was in the opening when dealing with the focus and stability of the shot. To fix this problem Nyles found a way to edit shots so the focus is better and so that certain shots look less handheld. 

Our movie is considered fast paced regarding the transition from one shot to the next, so another element we had to worry about was making the transition between shots smooth.  Nyles added an editing element that made it seamless, so the story doesn’t feel rushed. For our transitions, the opener has a lot of jump cuts, with a few scenes that have a fade transition. Additionally, when editing we used transitions such as cut-in/away, crossing cutting, graphic matching, and more.
