Lighting Process
Welcome backkkkkkkk!!!!!!
Let's talk about the lighting my group is using for our project, starting with our opener.
Our opener is meant to be very lighthearted and upbeat so we used a light that will properly represent that, daylight. Daylight is often used in films to provide a natural, realistic look that enhances the authenticity of a scene. It’s similar to the way people perceive light in real life, which makes certain visuals feel more immersive. We had to film every scene in the morning and midday to keep the lighting around the same, which was actually quite troublesome because we’d often run out of daylight, or the lighting wouldn’t be the same as previously filmed clips. Since there is no way to replace the effect of natural sunlight, we’ve had to re-film the scenes more times than expected to create the perfect scene. Additionally filming in sunlight adds to our element of surprise as most wouldn’t expect the main character to be murdered in broad day.
The only other light type we’re using is key light although it wasn’t much. During a part of our montage Jasmine was shown in a mirror grabbing her diary. During this scene the desk she was using was also displayed as well as the items on her desk. We used the light of the mirror in the mirror to highlight the items on the desk and her action of grabbing the diary.
That’s it hope you enjoyed!!!!
