Jasmine’s analysis

The main character in our film is considered to be the very beautiful, “shallow popular” teenage girl. She’s darkskin, has a button nose, nice lips, and long eyelashes. She wears a floral white shirt with light washed blue jeans and white open toes sandals. This outfit emphasizes her “girly, carefree” personality. Viewing this character just once would clue you in on who she is. Her props include mascara, her purse, her pink phone, and  her pink laptop. Once again keying the audience into her typical teenage girl ways and the fact she loves pink.

These props and details all add to her character allowing the audience to perceive her as a seemingly air headed teenager who loves fashion, all things pink, and is oblivious to struggles others may face. She portrays someone who takes immense pride in her appearance, clothes, and most importantly social standing.  She also has the tiniest hint of a “valley girl” accent and uses “slang” that adds to her “popular” character.
