Time to Brainstorm
The first genre we are considering is a horror/thriller movie. This is one genre that all 4 of us collectively agreed on. This genre is very suspenseful and is known for making the audience anxious and intrigued, which should leave our film memorable. For us to successfully create a thriller/horror movie we'd have to attract the reader by making an anxious atmosphere. We all feel that this is very doable with a slight difficulty. I'm mostly concerned about lighting. In horror films, the lighting is very important as it really ties together the production. I wonder how we'd correctly convey the dark room while also making our actors apparent.
Next, we also wanted to do a teenage dream type of movie. Since I was younger I've always liked movies with this type of feel. I love it when teenage freedom is portrayed in a film. Teenage Dream isn't considered a genre however there are many movies with this aesthetic which is why I consider it in this blog. The problem with this is that it's such a broad type with many people having many different views on what it could be/look like.
Another idea we were thinking about is a simulation/sci-fi movie. Personally, I'm not really interested in this genre but some of my group members really like it. I feel that we can mix each of our ideas together to produce a thought-provoking project. The only concern I had while brainstorming this idea was how we're going to effectively give enough background information to explain where the character is. We were going to isolate our character while also maintaining the fake world we were trying to create, but the editing techniques required to produce the clip seemed quite time-consuming.
