St. Louis and I: Sound story edition

 

Hello all!!!!! Welcome to my sound story

For our sound story Courtney and I decided to create the story of a man drugging a woman in her home and kidnapping her. In totality about 20 sounds were used I however only created about 10 of them.

Filming process

 The sounds I created were broken up into 3 scenes. The first scene had the sounds of a man knocking on a door and saying "Hello miss" , a lady opening a door and saying "Hi how may i help you" , a lady being chloroformed, and a lady falling unconscious. Scene two conistsed of heavy breathing/light breathing, a body being dragged, a person being thrown into a trunk, and a trunk being slammed shut. The last scene consisted of a man getting into a car, starting the engine, turning on the radio, and driving off in a hurry. Starting with the first scene I recorded my father knocking on our front door and saying “Hello miss” and my mother opening it and saying “hi how may i help you”. Additionally to mimic a lady being chloroformed I had my mother scream(which gradually decreased) and my father cover her mouth with his hand. Moving on to scene 2 I used a bench chair and dragged it along my garage floor, to represent the body being dragged. I put my phone inside my sisters trunk threw the chair in it and slammed it, which imitated the body being placed in the trunk. Before starting the 3rd scene I recorded heavy breathing and grunting so I could later mix it. For the 3rd scene I placed my phone inside the car recording and opened the door aggressively, slammed it closed aggressively, turned on the engine, and started the radio.

Foley stage

Now onto my process for the foley stage. During this stage I put all the videos in order and duplicated the sounds of heavy breathing and grunting. I mixed it with the sounds of the body being dragged and thrown in the trunk. I also mixed the sound of light breathing with the silence after the body is thrown in the car so it sounds as if she's unconscious but still breathing. Additionally during this stage I downloaded sounds of driving off fast to add at the end of scene 3, it added a sense of hastiness to the situation. After downloading this I downloaded the sound of a body thudding from hitting the ground so it could simulate the lady dropping after being chloroformed
